Commis Chef – Abu Dhabi and Dubai

About the role

Eatx, a Dubai-grown hospitality group with 10 brands including The Guild, Common Grounds, Tom & Serg and Hawkerboi, is looking for a passionate, motivated and detail-oriented Commis Chef to join its growing culinary team. You will support daily kitchen operations, assist in food preparation and service, and help maintain the high standards of quality, consistency and hygiene that define the group's hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs during service.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning and presentation.
• Follow instructions accurately and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Prepare and organize workstations before service.
• Help organize and monitor kitchen supplies and inventory, keeping ingredients stored, labelled and checked for freshness.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards, including HACCP guidelines.
• Keep workstations, equipment and storage areas clean, and follow food handling, labelling, storage and FIFO procedures.
• Take part in training sessions, kitchen briefings and team discussions, and continuously develop culinary skills through feedback from senior chefs.

Required profile

• Previous professional kitchen experience is an advantage; fresh graduates or entry-level candidates with a strong interest in culinary arts may also be considered.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment and cooking methods.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately, with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback and improve cooking techniques.
