Commis Chef

About the role

Park Hyatt Dubai is hiring a Commis Chef on a full-time basis. The Commis Chef assists in preparing, cooking and presenting food while upholding the highest standards of quality, hygiene, consistency and guest satisfaction. The role supports daily kitchen operations, builds culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs and contributes to exceptional dining experiences in a luxury hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, cooking and presenting food according to recipes, portioning guidelines and quality standards.
• Prepare ingredients, mise en place and workstation requirements for efficient service.
• Follow instructions from senior culinary team members so dishes are accurate and consistent.
• Maintain food quality, freshness, presentation and cleanliness throughout preparation.
• Support the team during service with timely preparation and replenishment of ingredients and menu items.
• Handle, store, label and rotate food safely, and help receive and check deliveries.
• Keep workstations, equipment, utensils and storage areas clean and organized.
• Minimize food waste through proper portioning and storage.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, sanitation and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Support inventory counts, stock replenishment and other routine kitchen tasks.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across kitchen sections.

Required profile

• Certificate, diploma or formal training in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Previous kitchen experience or a culinary internship in a hotel, restaurant or catering environment is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, hygiene and food safety.
• Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while keeping attention to detail.
