Commis I – Counter Culture Café

About the role

The Counter Culture Café at Marriott International in Dubai Marina is seeking a Commis I to support the kitchen team. This full‑time, non‑management position focuses on preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and assisting with daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and monitor food logs.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration, ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform chefs of excess or out‑of‑stock items.
• Maintain food quality, quantity, and safety standards; report maintenance or safety issues.
• Support Food & Beverage staff with menu specials and stock updates.
• Adhere to company policies, uniform standards and confidentiality requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant food‑preparation experience.
• Technical, trade or vocational school education preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb.
