About the role
The Commis II supports the kitchen and bakery team by preparing ingredients, cooking, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are met. This position works in a fast‑paced hotel environment, handling both hot and cold food preparation.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, portion, chop, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients for cooking and baking.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, presentation and quality standards.
- Monitor food temperature and quality, testing for doneness.
- Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
- Serve food in proper portions and ensure proper storage of prepared items.
- Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any issues.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related kitchen or bakery experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No specific license or certification required.
