Commis II – Staff Dining Kitchen

About the role

The Ritz‑Carlton is seeking a Commis II to support the Staff Dining Kitchen in Dubai. You will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, including cold foods, while adhering to quality, presentation and food safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers; test food for proper cooking.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures, follow safety policies, and report any hazards or maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Required skills

• Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning and cooking.
