Compliance Officer – Risk & Fraud

About the role

Fasset is seeking a Compliance Officer to lead risk and fraud initiatives across its products and markets. You will work in a fast‑moving, global team to protect the platform and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Run and maintain the compliance risk assessment and risk register for all products and markets.
• Monitor transactions for fraud, investigate alerts and escalate cases as needed.
• Design, test and tune fraud rules with Product, Engineering and Data teams.
• Identify fraud trends (account takeover, card fraud, promotion abuse, mule accounts) and recommend controls.
• Conduct control testing, document findings and track remediation to closure.
• Assess compliance and fraud risk for new products, features and partners before launch.
• Maintain fraud case records, incident logs and evidence of control effectiveness.
• Prepare regular risk and fraud management information for the Head of Compliance.
• Support internal audits and regulatory reviews with documentation and evidence.
• Collaborate with Customer Support on fraud‑related cases and chargebacks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in fraud, compliance risk, financial crime or risk operations at a fintech, bank, payments company or VASP.
• Hands‑on experience with fraud detection or transaction monitoring tools.
• Experience with risk assessments, control testing and risk frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data (SQL or advanced Excel).
• Ability to turn findings into clear, practical recommendations for technical and non‑technical teams.
• Independent, proactive and detail‑oriented in a fast‑paced, global environment.

Required skills

• Fraud detection tools such as Sumsub, Unit21, Sardine, Feedzai.
• SQL and advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Risk assessment and control testing methodologies.
• Virtual‑asset fraud tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic) – nice to have.
