Construction Cost & Commercial Manager

About the role

The Construction Cost & Commercial Manager is responsible for controlling construction‑related costs, ensuring commercially sound decisions, competitive procurement and cost savings while maintaining technical, quality and project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor construction budgets, expenditures and cost forecasts across ongoing projects.
• Review quotations, BOQs, material costs and subcontractor proposals for commercial competitiveness.
• Identify and implement value‑engineering and cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, QS and Finance teams to optimise project spend.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing and support negotiation of commercial terms.
• Review variations, additional works, claims and assess potential cost implications.
• Track actual expenditure against approved budgets and highlight overruns or leakage.
• Provide regular cost analysis, forecasts and recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, MEP Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12+ years of UAE construction experience with strong exposure to cost management, QS or commercial functions.
• Demonstrated experience in cost optimisation, value engineering and commercial negotiations.
• Professional qualification such as MRICS is an advantage.
