Construction Manager – High-Rise Building Projects, Dubai

About the role

The Construction Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution and supervision of construction activities on site for high-rise building projects in Dubai. The role ensures that all works are completed safely, on schedule and within budget, in line with project specifications, drawings, quality standards and contractual requirements. The manager leads site teams and subcontractors and coordinates closely with consultants, clients and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and control site activities to meet productivity targets and approved schedules; develop and run construction methodologies, method statements and work procedures
• Prepare work packages, construction sequences and pre-start activity plans, and coordinate logistics with procurement and stores teams
• Manage pre-commissioning, final handover and closure of snag items
• Supervise site execution against approved programmes, specifications and drawings, track design changes and site instructions, and lead subcontractors through regular site meetings
• Review quality observations, NCRs and inspection reports, ensure inspections and tests are approved before covering up works, and manage non-conforming works
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier performance, resolve technical issues on drawings and shop drawings with Engineering and the Project Manager
• Liaise with clients, consultants and local authorities, document verbal instructions and design changes, and coordinate with the Commercial Manager on cost impacts, variations and claims
• Enforce HSE policies, promote a zero-accident safety culture, take disciplinary action for safety violations and comply with statutory safety regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 15+ years of experience in construction management, preferably on high-rise building projects
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent coordination, communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage conflicts and critical site situations
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, methods, logistics and site execution
• Understanding of construction planning, scheduling and production control
• Familiarity with construction management tools and strong computer skills
