Construction Manager - Offshore Project

About the role

KBR is hiring a Construction Manager for a major offshore oil and gas development project, based at its EPC Contractors office in Abu Dhabi. The role leads and oversees all construction, fabrication, transportation, offshore installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning and mechanical completion activities carried out by EPCI contractors, acting as the PMC focal point for construction execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead construction activities, set performance expectations, mentor PMC construction staff and drive a proactive safety, quality, productivity and accountability culture
• Manage construction execution, review and endorse contractor construction execution plans, and verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications and schedules
• Monitor fabrication yard progress, schedules, inspections, manpower and equipment, and coordinate discipline interfaces
• Oversee offshore installation, hook-up and commissioning, including marine logistics, workfront planning and offshore work permits
• Lead construction planning for brownfield modifications and SIMOPS, and support shutdown and tie-in execution plans
• Review and monitor construction schedules, recovery plans, progress measurements and milestone achievement
• Audit EPCI contractor performance, staffing plans and resources, and track closure of action items and punch lists
• Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, engineering, procurement, commissioning and operations teams, and manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors and vendors
• Report progress, KPIs and risks to Project Management and support management reviews

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Marine or related engineering
• Minimum 25 years of oil and gas industry experience
• Minimum 10 years in construction management on major offshore developments
• Minimum 5 years of PMC experience managing EPCI contractors
• Proven experience in offshore platforms, compression facilities, pipelines, bridges, brownfield modifications, hook-up and commissioning
