Construction Manager - Oil & Gas

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate all on-site activities for a high-profile client in the oil and gas sector. The role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards, and generally covers projects or subsets of projects valued above USD 500 million.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all construction activities to ensure safe, efficient and timely execution.
• Manage construction teams, contractors and subcontractors on site.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements and regulations.
• Monitor progress against schedule and implement corrective actions; review and approve construction methods, work packs and execution strategies.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commissioning and client teams to resolve construction issues.
• Manage budgets, resources, manpower and equipment utilization.
• Identify and mitigate construction risks, delays and productivity challenges.
• Conduct site inspections, progress meetings and performance reviews, and report regularly to project management.

Required profile

• Degree with at least 20 years of oil and gas experience, including at least 5 years on major capital projects over USD 500 million, focused on construction and site management.
• Experience in an oil and gas operating company is highly desired and may be considered in lieu of capital project experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong command of English.
• Willingness to travel extensively for multi-week periods and to adjust work location to project needs.
• Qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa.
