Consultant Acute Medicine Physician – Acute Care & Rapid Assessment

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Acute Medicine Physician to join our Acute Care & Rapid Assessment Unit in Dubai. The role involves rapid evaluation, stabilization and ongoing management of patients with acute medical conditions in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients presenting with acute medical emergencies in the Acute Medical Unit.
• Lead care pathways for admissions, coordinate multidisciplinary treatment plans and ensure timely discharge.
• Perform comprehensive clinical assessments, formulate evidence‑based treatment plans and initiate escalation when patients deteriorate.
• Interpret laboratory results, imaging studies and ECGs to support clinical decisions.
• Participate in medical emergency response, resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill patients.
• Collaborate with specialist teams including cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, neurology, infectious diseases, endocrinology and critical care.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents and medical trainees.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement projects and protocol development.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or specialist qualification in Internal Medicine or Acute Medicine.
• Minimum of 3 years post‑specialist experience in acute medical care.
• Proven ability to manage complex multisystem illnesses in a hospital setting.
• Strong leadership and communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
