Consultant Burns Surgeon – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Burns Surgeon to join our specialist clinical team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves comprehensive surgical and medical management of patients with acute and complex burn injuries, from assessment through rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level assessment and management of thermal, chemical, electrical and other burn injuries.
• Perform burn surgeries such as escharotomy, fasciotomy, burn wound excision, tangential excision, skin grafting and reconstructive procedures.
• Lead multidisciplinary care, coordinate with ICU, plastic surgery, trauma, anesthesiology, infectious diseases, rehabilitation and physiotherapy teams.
• Develop and implement burn management protocols, clinical pathways and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Teach, train and supervise residents, fellows and junior staff, and contribute to research and audits.

Required profile

• Medical degree with postgraduate training in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery or a related specialty.
• Board certification or specialist qualification and a valid DoH Abu Dhabi Consultant licence.
• Significant post‑specialist experience managing major and complex burns, preferably in a dedicated burn or major trauma centre.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Burns Surgery is highly desirable.
