Consultant Emergency Medicine - Adult or Pediatrics

About the role

A leading government hospital in the UAE is seeking highly qualified Consultant Emergency Medicine physicians (adult and/or pediatric) to deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, aligned with international best practices and local regulatory standards. The position is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency care to adult and/or pediatric patients with acute and life-threatening conditions
• Perform rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization and management of emergency cases
• Lead and supervise emergency department clinical teams, including residents and nursing staff
• Perform and oversee emergency procedures within scope of practice
• Collaborate with specialty consultants, ICU teams and allied health professionals
• Ensure accurate, timely medical documentation in line with hospital and regulatory standards
• Take part in clinical governance, audits, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support teaching, mentoring and training of junior medical staff

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Western board certification in Emergency Medicine (Adult and/or Pediatric)
• Eligible for a UAE consultant licence (DOH / DHA / MOH, depending on emirate)
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-board experience at consultant level
• Preferred: fellowship training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (pediatric role), previous experience in tertiary or teaching hospitals, and international healthcare experience (US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia preferred)
