Consultant Gastroenterologist

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist who specializes in diagnosing and managing digestive system disorders and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas and biliary system
• Treat conditions such as GERD, peptic ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders and gastrointestinal bleeding
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy
• Evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans and interpret diagnostic investigations and endoscopic findings
• Manage complex cases, provide long-term follow-up and counsel patients on treatment, diet and prevention
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to clinical quality improvement

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• MD/DNB in General Medicine or equivalent, followed by DM/DNB or equivalent specialization in Gastroenterology
• Significant post-specialization experience at Consultant level
• Experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
