Consultant ICU / Critical Care Medicine – Sharjah

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Consultant in ICU and Critical Care Medicine to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah. The role involves delivering expert care to critically ill adults, overseeing complex medical and surgical cases, and ensuring evidence‑based, patient‑centered treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Provide advanced life support and comprehensive critical care for medical, surgical, trauma and sepsis cases.
• Perform procedures such as intubation, bronchoscopy, central venous catheter insertion, arterial line placement and ventilator management.
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and coordinate patient management plans.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, anesthesiology, surgery, pulmonology, cardiology and other specialties.
• Supervise junior physicians, residents and ICU staff.
• Ensure compliance with ICU protocols, infection control and patient safety standards.
• Participate in rapid response teams, code‑blue management and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with MOH UAE regulations.
• Contribute to research, quality improvement, audits and CME activities.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by MOH UAE.
• Board certification or fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Anesthesia Critical Care, or Pulmonary & Critical Care.
• Valid MOH UAE Consultant license or eligibility letter.
• 5–7 years post‑board consultant experience in a tertiary‑care ICU.
• ACLS certification and other relevant critical‑care credentials preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and decision‑making abilities.
