Consultant Infectious Disease – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Infectious Diseases to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. The role involves providing expert clinical care for adult patients with complex infections and contributing to stewardship and infection‑prevention programs.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and manage a broad spectrum of infectious diseases, including sepsis, HIV, tuberculosis and hospital‑acquired infections.
• Lead and support antimicrobial stewardship programs to optimise antibiotic use.
• Collaborate with ICU, internal medicine, surgery and microbiology teams for integrated patient care.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient infectious disease consultations.
• Participate in infection prevention, outbreak management and compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations.
• Contribute to teaching, training, audits, research and continuous quality improvement.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognised by DOH Abu Dhabi.
• Board Certification/Fellowship in Infectious Diseases (American Board, UK CCT, Canadian Board or equivalent).
• Valid DOH Consultant License or eligibility letter in Infectious Diseases.
• Minimum 5–7 years post‑specialist experience in a tertiary or academic hospital.
• Strong experience in complex infectious cases and antimicrobial stewardship.
