Consultant Neonatologist – American Board, Western Qualified

About the role

Government Healthcare Facility in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Neonatologist to join its advanced neonatal and pediatric care services. The role involves delivering comprehensive care to premature and critically ill newborns and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment and management of newborns requiring specialized and intensive neonatal care.
• Manage premature, low‑birth‑weight, and critically ill neonates, including respiratory, cardiovascular, infectious, neurological, and metabolic disorders.
• Perform advanced neonatal resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill newborns.
• Oversee mechanical ventilation, CPAP, high‑flow oxygen and other respiratory support modalities.
• Coordinate care for neonates with congenital anomalies and surgical conditions alongside pediatric surgical teams.
• Offer antenatal and perinatal consultation for high‑risk pregnancies in collaboration with obstetric teams.
• Support neonatal nutrition, growth, developmental care and discharge planning.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case discussions, clinical audits, teaching, research and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Neonatology, Pediatrics or a related specialty.
• American Board certification in Pediatrics with a Neonatology fellowship or equivalent Western qualification.
• Established consultant‑level experience in a leading hospital, tertiary‑care centre or advanced NICU.
• Strong clinical judgment in high‑acuity neonatal cases and excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, evidence‑based medicine and continuous professional development.
