Consultant Neurosurgeon – American Board & Western Qualification

About the role

The Government hospital in Dubai seeks an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon with American Board and Western qualifications. The role involves managing complex neurological cases, performing both elective and emergency surgeries, and contributing to the department’s growth within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures, including brain, spine, cerebrovascular, and trauma surgeries.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments and post‑operative follow‑up.
• Collaborate with neurologists, radiologists, intensivists, oncologists and other specialists in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical governance and accurate documentation.
• Support teaching, mentoring, clinical audits, research and departmental development.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Neurosurgery.
• American Board in Neurosurgery, UK CCT/CCST or equivalent Western qualification.
• Established consultant‑level experience in a tertiary hospital setting.
• Expertise in one or more areas such as brain surgery, spine surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, neuro‑oncology or neuro‑trauma.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, surgical skills and multidisciplinary communication.
