Consultant Ophthalmologist – Medical Retina & Cataract (Arabic Speaker)

About the role

We are looking for a Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in medical retina and cataract surgery to join our multidisciplinary team in Dubai. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality clinical care, perform advanced surgical procedures and mentor junior staff while communicating fluently in Arabic.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage retinal disorders such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and retinal detachment.
• Perform cataract surgeries, including phacoemulsification and intra‑ocular lens implantation.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and interpret OCT, fluorescein angiography and fundus photography.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care and follow‑up for retinal and cataract patients.
• Collaborate with optometrists, general ophthalmologists and other specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with local health regulations.
• Stay current with emerging ophthalmic techniques and incorporate them into practice.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with a postgraduate qualification in ophthalmology.
• Fellowship or equivalent experience in medical retina or cataract surgery.
• Minimum five years of experience as a consultant ophthalmologist.
• Valid medical licence to practice in Dubai.
• Fluency in spoken and written Arabic.
