Consultant Otolaryngology (ENT)

About the role

The Consultant Otolaryngology will deliver expert diagnosis, medical treatment and surgical management for ear, nose, throat, head and neck conditions across adult and pediatric populations. This senior clinical position ensures the highest standards of patient safety, care quality and compliance with SEHA’s mission and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of ENT disorders including hearing loss, sinusitis, sleep apnea, vertigo and head‑and‑neck tumours.
• Perform outpatient assessments and surgical procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, tympanoplasty, septoplasty, neck dissection and microlaryngoscopy.
• Lead operative and peri‑operative care, ensuring optimal recovery and complication management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams – audiology, speech therapy, oncology, paediatrics and internal medicine – for holistic patient care.
• Supervise junior doctors, residents and surgical staff; contribute to training and continuing education programmes.
• Document clinical notes, surgical procedures and follow‑up plans using SEHA’s electronic health record system.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, morbidity‑mortality reviews and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery and Board Certification (e.g., American Board, FRCS, Arab Board).
• Valid DOH Consultant License in Otolaryngology or eligibility to obtain it.
• Minimum 5 years post‑certification experience as a Consultant ENT Surgeon, preferably with adult and paediatric exposure.
