About the role
The Consultant Physician – Neurology leads and supervises the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based neurological care, diagnosing, managing and treating patients while providing clinical leadership and training for junior medical staff.
Key responsibilities
- Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review and productivity and utilization review processes.
- Assists with scheduling and ensures adequate medical coverage within the Division.
- Attends divisional meetings and assists the Division Chief in recruiting new medical staff.
- Oversees clinical activities of junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for their care.
- Leads ward rounds, regularly reassessing inpatients and outpatients.
- Documents clinical information accurately and timely.
- Reviews investigation results and modifies treatment as required.
- Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to plan holistic patient care.
- Provides on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Communicates clinical information to patients and families in a timely manner.
- Promotes a culture of quality improvement, audit, incident reporting and continuous learning.
- Provides instruction, guidance and supervision of junior staff and supports continued medical education.
- Promotes and participates in clinical research and publication.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post‑board certification (Tier 1) or 8 years full‑time consultant experience (Tier 2) in an internationally accredited institute.
- For UAE nationals, clinical fellowship training from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, USA or HAAD‑accredited programs may substitute for experience (each fellowship year counts as two years).
- Current national medical license or equivalent.
- Certified proof of yearly Continuing Medical Education (CME).
- Medical qualification meeting Tier 1 or Tier 2 standards.
