Consultant Physician Urology (Andrology)

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Urology (Andrology) provides high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care within Al Rahba Hospital. The role combines clinical excellence with supervision and training of junior medical staff, ensuring continuous improvement of services.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat urology and andrology patients according to best‑practice standards, including leading ward rounds and preparing patients for procedures.
• Supervise junior medical staff, jointly assuming responsibility for their patient care and providing mentorship.
• Document clinical information accurately and timely, review investigations, and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, liaise with other specialties, and ensure appropriate referrals and follow‑up.
• Support out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and incident reporting within the division.

Required profile

• Board‑certified urology specialist; UAE nationals may have no additional experience requirement.
• Tier 1: No post‑board experience required; Tier 2: Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an internationally accredited institute; Tier 3: Minimum 3 years specialist experience.
• Commitment to clinical research, publication and continuous professional development.
