Consultant Psychiatrist (Arabic Speaker, UK Trained) – Sharjah

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, UK‑trained Consultant Psychiatrist who is fluent in Arabic to join a leading mental health facility in Sharjah. The role involves delivering high‑quality psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings while working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of mental health disorders.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, risk assessments and develop ongoing treatment plans.
• Prescribe, monitor and adjust psychotropic medications safely.
• Provide inpatient, outpatient and emergency psychiatric services.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers and other health professionals.
• Deliver psychotherapy and supportive counseling as needed.
• Participate in case discussions, clinical governance, audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and train junior doctors and mental‑health staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Psychiatry (mandatory) with at least 5 years of consultant experience.
• UK CCT / MRCPsych or equivalent Western training preferred.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing (MOHAP for Sharjah).
• Strong clinical judgment, communication and leadership abilities.
