Consultant Psychiatrist – Full‑time in Sharjah, UAE

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited multispecialty healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its mental health, psychiatric and behavioural health services. It seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a growing clinical team, offering strong clinical exposure and the chance to work with a diverse international patient population in a modern, quality‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of psychiatric, psychological and behavioural health conditions.
• Provide consultant‑level care for depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD and other mental health conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk assessments, mental status examinations and develop treatment plans.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans including pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy referrals and other evidence‑based interventions.
• Manage acute psychiatric presentations, crisis situations and coordinate appropriate referrals.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects and long‑term outcomes.
• Coordinate care with psychologists, counsellors, therapists, neurologists, primary care physicians and other specialists.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment options, medication safety and relapse prevention.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to confidentiality and patient safety standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development.

Required profile

• Internationally trained psychiatrist, board‑certified or equivalent.
• Experience in adult psychiatry and managing a broad spectrum of mental health conditions.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong patient‑centred communication skills.
• Commitment to international healthcare standards and continuous professional development.
