Consultant/Specialist General Surgeon – Dubai, Tax-Free UAE

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant / Specialist General Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team in Dubai. The position is based in a JCI-accredited tertiary care hospital offering modern operating theatres and advanced surgical technology. The role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient surgical care to a diverse international patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general surgery care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Perform elective and emergency procedures, including laparoscopic and open surgeries.
• Diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of surgical conditions.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nursing staff and critical-care specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and expansion of the hospital’s surgical services.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience after specialist/board certification in General Surgery.
• Recognised specialist qualification (e.g., American Board of Surgery, UK CCT/FRCS, European Board, Royal College, Australian Fellowship, Arab Board, MS/MCH/DM/FCPS).
• Eligibility for DHA / DOH licence conversion (support provided).
• Experience working in an advanced surgical unit with modern operating theatres.
