Consumer & Marketplace Manager

About the role

GMG is hiring a Consumer & Marketplace Manager in its Buying and Merchandising department in Dubai. The role holder grows sales and market share of the assigned category through an effective product portfolio with the right price and channel segmentation, while improving profitability and growth. It covers the Business Unit's overall consumer/category/marketplace strategy and partnerships with key stakeholders across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Create assortments based on marketplace capacity and insights, driving seasonal strategies and the consumer experience
• Develop comprehensive business plans and long-term strategy for the category, and lead pricing and intake profitability decisions
• Build assortment frameworks and module grids aligned to category, consumer and channel mapping
• Lead seasonal forecasting to secure product access and allocations, and manage inventory, stock-on-hand and sell-through
• Monitor category sales, gross margins and sell-out, and track retail KPIs such as ITR and GMROI
• Collaborate with wholesale, retail merchandising and category management to shape channel strategies
• Work with brands on product launches, pricing, in-store dates and seasonal product presentations
• Lead the go-to-market process and seasonal product presentations, and coordinate with operations, visual merchandising, retail marketing and brand marketing
• Mentor the team, set objectives and performance targets, and drive the team toward periodic KPIs

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Marketing or Buying and Merchandising, or equivalent
• At least 4-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years managing brand/category products
• Knowledge of products, categories, brands and industry
