Contract and Claims Lead – Arabic Speaking

About the role

The Contracts and Claims Lead will support the Contracts Manager in overseeing a large portfolio of contracts for a major infrastructure firm in the UAE. The role requires strong Arabic communication skills and deep expertise in contract administration, claims handling, and commercial risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring all obligations are met.
• Review and administer claims, variations, change orders, and contractual entitlements.
• Assess extensions of time, delay, disruption, and other commercial claims.
• Handle contractual notices, correspondence, supporting documentation, and contract records.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Support administration of EPC, project, supply and operational contracts.
• Monitor contract performance and resolve issues with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Assist in commercial negotiations, claim resolution and dispute avoidance.
• Collaborate with Projects, Procurement, Finance, Legal and other internal teams.
• Provide technical guidance to the contracts team and maintain controls across a high‑volume portfolio.

Required profile

• Extensive contracts management experience on large‑scale projects.
• Hands‑on experience in claims management, variations and extensions of time.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, preferably with formal certification.
• Practical experience with EPC contracts and risk allocation.
• Experience reviewing contractual risks, liabilities and commercial exposure.
• Background in utilities, power, water, energy or major infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering; MBA or similar postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Proven leadership managing large, multi‑site teams and strong asset‑management understanding.
