CPI/Integration Consultant

About the role

The client, a semi‑government entity in Abu Dhabi, seeks an experienced CPI/Integration Consultant to design, build and support integrations between SAP (S/4HANA, BTP) and non‑SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite and PI/PO.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integrations on SAP Integration Suite (CPI) and PI/PO.
• Translate business requirements into integration specifications, interface designs and mapping documents.
• Lead migration of PI/PO interfaces to SAP Integration Suite, including assessment, redesign and cut‑over planning.
• Define integration standards, patterns, naming conventions and reusable components.
• Ensure interfaces are secure, scalable, monitored and include proper error handling.
• Present designs to the Architecture Review Board and align with enterprise architecture principles.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, ABAP/BTP developers and third‑party vendors for end‑to‑end delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation, test scenarios and hand‑over material for support teams.
• Mentor junior integration developers and review their work.

Required profile

• 8+ years of SAP integration experience, with 3–4 years hands‑on SAP CPI/Integration Suite.
• Strong delivery background in SAP PI/PO (ESR, ID, adapter configuration, BPM).
• At least two end‑to‑end SAP implementation or upgrade projects, preferably S/4HANA.
• Proven experience migrating interfaces from PI/PO to CPI.
• Experience integrating SAP with third‑party platforms such as CRM, PLM, banking, e‑Invoicing, logistics or government portals.
• Exposure to multi‑entity or large‑enterprise environments, preferably in defense, manufacturing or regulated industries.

• SAP Integration Suite: Cloud Integration, API Management, Open Connectors, Event Mesh.
• Adapters & protocols: IDoc, RFC, SOAP, REST/OData, SFTP, AS2, JDBC, JMS.
• Scripting & mapping: Groovy, JavaScript, XSLT, graphical and message mapping.
• Security: OAuth, certificates, PGP encryption, SAP Cloud Connector, principal propagation.
• SAP BTP fundamentals: Cloud Foundry, subaccounts, destinations.
• Monitoring: CPI monitoring, PI/PO RWB/NWA, Cloud ALM integration monitoring.
• ABAP knowledge for IDoc/RFC/proxy troubleshooting.
