Crew Care Officer

About the role

The Crew Care Officer provides confidential, compassionate support to Etihad employees facing personal, emotional, or crisis‑related challenges. Acting as a trusted point of contact, the role ensures timely welfare assistance and coordinates interventions while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and duty of care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line welfare and wellbeing support, guiding employees through personal, emotional, and workplace issues.
• Conduct initial assessments, triage cases, and allocate or escalate them according to established procedures.
• Respond to wellbeing concerns, personal crises, operational incidents, bereavement, sickness, layover illness, hospitalisation, and other emergency situations.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to arrange timely support services, including medical, counselling, and specialist referrals.
• Participate in emergency response activities such as duty phone coverage, repatriation, emergency travel, and hospital coordination.
• Maintain accurate, confidential case records in designated systems, ensuring compliance with governance and data‑protection requirements.
• Escalate high‑risk or complex cases to the Duty Care Manager or senior leadership.
• Contribute to wellbeing initiatives, awareness programmes, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Nursing, or a related field.
• Experience in welfare, wellbeing, or employee support roles, preferably in aviation or other safety‑critical environments.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and confidentiality skills.
• Familiarity with case management or welfare tracking systems.
