CT Radiographer

About the role

The CT Radiographer will independently or under the supervision of senior radiographers perform computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures, produce high‑quality diagnostic images, and support radiologists and clinical staff in a busy hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all CT imaging procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.
• Analyze CT output, evaluate image quality, and forward images to radiologists for review.
• Prepare patients, conduct cannulations and administer IV contrast agents under supervision.
• Maintain inventory of radiology supplies, report shortages, and keep accurate ordering records.
• Operate advanced CT software such as bolus tracking, image reconstruction, quantification and dynamic imaging.
• Ensure safe and competent use of radiology equipment, report incidents or equipment faults promptly.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work environment and restock supplies after each use.
• Provide technical advice to medical and technical staff on imaging techniques.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families and other medical personnel.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audit processes and compliance with safety, infection control and environmental precautions.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently or under supervision of senior radiographers.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to produce diagnostic‑quality images.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and adherence to departmental SOPs.
• Willingness to maintain accurate documentation and support clinical audit activities.

Required skills

• CT imaging operation and protocol optimization.
• Bolus tracking, advanced image reconstruction, quantification and dynamic imaging.
• IV contrast preparation and administration under supervision.
• Use of radiology equipment, patient positioning aids and safety devices.
• Inventory management of radiology supplies.
