Dairy Engineer

About the role

A leading agricultural and dairy production company in Abu Dhabi, represented by its recruiter, is looking for an experienced Dairy Engineer to oversee the operation, maintenance and optimisation of dairy processing equipment and production systems. The role ensures efficient, safe and high-quality manufacturing while supporting continuous improvement across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot dairy processing equipment to minimise downtime.
• Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for dairy machinery.
• Monitor production to ensure compliance with quality, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Support installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment and production lines.
• Analyse equipment performance and recommend improvements to boost productivity and cut costs.
• Coordinate with production, quality assurance, maintenance and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 and food safety regulations.
• Monitor utilities such as refrigeration, steam boilers, chilled water, compressed air and CIP systems.
• Develop maintenance schedules, SOPs, equipment manuals and technical documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers and service providers for repairs, upgrades and spare parts.
• Take part in continuous improvement, automation and energy efficiency initiatives, and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Dairy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in dairy manufacturing, dairy processing or food production engineering.
• Experience in a dairy processing plant, milk production facility or agricultural manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with food safety and quality management systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
