Data & AI Engineer

About the role

ATOM Technologies Limited is hiring a Data & AI Engineer in Dubai, reporting to the Principal Data & AI. You will contribute across the end-to-end data development lifecycle, from ingestion and cleansing to transformation, curation and presentation, working with a team of data engineers to deliver secure data and AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that move data from multiple sources into the data lake and data marts, and build robust web scraping solutions.
• Optimise performance and cost of data workloads (partitioning, compression, query tuning).
• Apply dimensional modelling standards (star/snowflake schemas, canonical data models) to support reporting, analytics and AI/ML use cases.
• Help evolve the cloud data architecture under the guidance of the Principal Data & AI.
• Support the production of ML/AI and LLM-based solutions with reliable pipelines and feature stores, and expose curated datasets for self-service reporting and dashboards.
• Follow data governance, quality and metadata practices, and apply security best practices (IAM roles, encryption, row/column-level security, auditing).
• Partner with product, engineering and business stakeholders, and take part in code reviews, documentation, testing and CI/CD practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Hands-on data engineering experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, GCP and/or AWS.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, and proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of SAP HANA / HANA Cloud data modelling, XS Engine, Calculation Views and SDI/SDA is a strong plus.
• Experience with analytical tools such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire or SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Exposure to large language models and generative AI, including building agentic AI workflows with tools such as n8n, LangChain / LangGraph, Make, Zapier AI, CrewAI or similar.
• Experience delivering CI/CD and DevOps capabilities in a data environment.
• Collaborative, proactive problem solver with strong communication skills.
