Data Engineer – Cloud & AI Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer with a software‑engineering mindset to join our Data & AI team in Abu Dhabi. You will design, build and operate scalable, observable data infrastructure on AWS, enabling analytics, machine learning and Generative AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate GenAI capabilities (LLMs, LangChain, AWS Bedrock) into data pipelines and engineering workflows.
• Develop, test and maintain reliable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Model raw data into clean, business‑ready star‑schema datasets with dbt.
• Deploy code in containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and manage AWS services such as S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda, Athena.
• Implement data quality checks, unit tests and dbt tests to ensure high‑quality data products.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Product Managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience.
• Experience with LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation or similar GenAI technologies.
• Strong software‑development habits: version control (Git), code reviews and automated testing.
• Ability to write complex, efficient SQL queries and clean Python scripts for data manipulation.
