Data Governance Chief Specialist

About the role

The Data Governance Chief Specialist leads the design and enforcement of government-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and driving performance management across entities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously enhance data governance frameworks, policies, and standards for the entire government.
• Define, measure, and enforce compliance through monitoring, audits, and performance tracking mechanisms.
• Drive the creation and governance of data performance indices to improve data quality, sharing, and management capabilities.
• Maintain the government-wide data information model, central data catalogue, metadata, and reference data.
• Promote cross‑entity data sharing and lead governance bodies such as Data Committees and Working Groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Business Administration, IT or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 20+ years of experience in data governance, data management, information architecture or digital transformation.
• Proven track record implementing data policies and operating models in complex, multi‑entity environments.
• Experience establishing and scaling enterprise or national‑level data governance functions.
