Data / Oracle Engineer

About the role

The Data / Oracle Engineer will design, develop, maintain and optimise enterprise data platforms and Oracle‑based systems that support business applications, reporting, analytics and digital initiatives across the organisation. This role operates within a sovereign wealth fund environment, requiring strong technical discipline, documentation rigor and adherence to governance and change‑management standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support Oracle database environments across development, test and production, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery.
• Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, resolve complex performance issues and implement high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions such as Data Guard, RMAN, Autonomous Database, Exadata and OCI Load Balancer.
• Design and develop data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and integrations between Oracle databases and enterprise applications, supporting data ingestion from ERP, HR, finance and other business systems.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas and transformations to support reporting and analytics, ensuring data consistency, accuracy and reconciliation.
• Support enterprise analytics solutions on Oracle Cloud and Fusion environments, including Oracle Analytics Cloud and Fusion Analytics Warehouse.
• Implement database security controls, encryption, auditing and segregation of duties, and ensure compliance with internal governance and audit requirements.
• Automate database and data operations using scripting and tooling, and support modernisation initiatives such as platform upgrades and system consolidation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in Oracle database administration and data engineering, preferably in financial services, government or high‑availability organisations.
