Data Platform Technology Architect

About the role

The Data Platform Technology Architect will lead the design, architecture, and evolution of the government's core data platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and interoperable. This role enables seamless data exchange across government entities while supporting advanced data use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the end‑to‑end architecture for core data platforms, guaranteeing performance, scalability, and security.
• Advise on technology selection, solution architecture, and platform harmonisation to meet government‑wide data strategy and policies.
• Lead architecture and oversight of a complex ecosystem of data platforms, ensuring interoperability across multiple vendors.
• Design and govern a data‑sharing platform that enables secure, standardised data flows across entities.
• Guide entity‑level data solutions, including ingestion, storage (data lakes/warehouses), catalogues, master data management, integration layers, and analytics.
• Oversee platform lifecycle management, from setup and operations to upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of legacy systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• 20+ years of experience in technology architecture, designing and deploying large‑scale data platforms in multinational or multi‑entity environments.
• Proven experience architecting cloud‑based data platforms, data marketplaces and integration ecosystems.
• Experience working in government or large‑scale enterprise ecosystems is preferred.
