Data Scientist

About the role

The Data Scientist will design, develop and deploy advanced machine‑learning solutions for industrial applications such as reliability monitoring, predictive maintenance and production optimisation within the oil & gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operationalise scalable ML models using supervised and unsupervised techniques.
• Develop production‑grade pipelines with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., MapReduce, streaming).
• Collaborate with data engineers, subject‑matter experts and business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into analytical solutions.
• Lead end‑to‑end data‑science projects from problem definition through deployment, monitoring and model drift management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience delivering ML solutions for industrial use cases.
• Proven domain expertise in oil & gas or manufacturing environments.
• Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics.

Required skills

• Python, R, JavaScript (experience with Java or Scala is a plus).
• Distributed computing frameworks such as MapReduce and streaming technologies.
• MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, model versioning and automated testing.
