Dean, College of Communication and Media Sciences

About the role

The Dean will lead the College of Communication and Media Sciences, one of Zayed University's founding colleges and a program accredited by the International Advertising Association. This senior academic position oversees curriculum, research, community outreach, and alumni relations.

Key responsibilities

• Steer the College’s long‑term strategy in line with ACEJMC standards and curriculum guidelines.
• Advance research productivity and support faculty scholarly activities.
• Manage the College’s budget, fiscal affairs, and resource allocation.
• Expand outreach, entrepreneurship, and innovative community‑engagement programs.
• Collaborate with Student Affairs to maintain a positive learning environment and uphold academic integrity.
• Forge academic alliances with local schools, UAE institutions, and leading international universities.
• Develop alumni and stakeholder relations to strengthen the College’s network.

Required profile

• PhD in mass communication or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional and academic experience.
• Full‑professor rank at the previous institution.
• Minimum three years of proven administrative leadership at the Dean, Associate Dean, or Assistant Dean level in an ACEJMC‑accredited university.
• At least five years of full‑time university teaching experience recognized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
• Demonstrated success in developing new programs that meet international standards and in building collaborative, multicultural teams.
