English Teacher – Cycle 2 & 3 (American Curriculum)

About the role

International Community Schools (ICS) in Al Falah City is looking for a motivated English Teacher to deliver the American curriculum to Cycle 2 and Cycle 3 students. The role involves creating an engaging learning environment and supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons aligned with American curriculum standards.
• Create a safe, supportive classroom where students feel encouraged to participate.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
• Implement individualized strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Promote an inclusive, respectful classroom culture.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings and collaborative planning.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices into lessons.
• Support extracurricular activities and school events as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably with the American curriculum.
• Native‑level or near‑native English proficiency.
• Commitment to student development and academic excellence.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of the American curriculum and ability to adapt it for an international context.
• Ability to develop clear, focused lesson plans.
• Effective classroom management and behaviour management techniques.
• Capability to tailor teaching strategies for varied learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
• Skill in assessing student performance and using data to inform instruction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
