Dean of Students (starting August)

About the role

The Dean of Students will join Dubai American Academy, GEMS Education’s flagship American school, to lead student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement. This full‑time position starts in August 2026 and supports a vibrant, international community recognised for academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement across the school.
• Develop and implement pastoral strategies that promote positive behaviour, inclusion and community.
• Collaborate with Heads of Year, counsellors and teaching staff to ensure consistent student care and behaviour management.
• Maintain continuity in pastoral systems, including attendance, safeguarding and support processes.
• Monitor and support students with diverse social, emotional and behavioural needs, coordinating interventions as required.
• Foster an inclusive school culture that encourages respect, responsibility and student voice.
• Serve as a primary contact for parents on wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral matters, ensuring clear communication.

• Committed to supporting diverse social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with senior staff, counsellors and parents.
• Experience in pastoral leadership or student support within an educational setting.
