Demi Chef de Partie

About the role

Sheraton The Walk Dubai in Jumeirah Beach Residence is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie for a full-time, non-management position in the Food and Beverage & Culinary area. The role covers preparing and cooking food to recipe and quality standards, supporting the kitchen team and keeping guests well served.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items, and prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and prepare cold foods.
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials and tell Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Anticipate guests' service needs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.
• Protect company assets, keep proprietary information confidential and support the team to reach common goals.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
