Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry)

About the role

Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort, is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie (Pastry) for a full-time, non-management position in its food and beverage kitchen. The role covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, supporting the chef and the team, and keeping food quality and service standards high.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist, including cold foods.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and inform the chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Tell food and beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Anticipate guest service needs and communicate assistance required during busy periods.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
