Design Assistant - Art Consultancy

About the role

Drawdeck is a Dubai-based art consultancy and framing/art fabrication studio that works with hotels and hospitality brands across the region, creating art programmes that tell a story and elevate a space. It is looking for a Design Assistant with a strong creative eye, a natural feel for art and interiors and a genuine passion for design. The role works closely with the Art Consultancy team to develop curated artwork packages for hospitality, residential and commercial projects, combining art curation, design development and technical coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Support Art Consultants in developing curated artwork selections aligned with each project's design direction and interior aesthetic
• Assist in preparing concept, schematic and detailed design packages
• Create artwork presentations, mood boards, layouts and material selections
• Research artwork references, artists, materials and finishes to support creative concepts
• Interpret interior design schemes and help develop complementary artwork directions
• Prepare artwork specifications, dimensions, elevations and technical documentation for production
• Coordinate with in-house design and fabrication teams to bring concepts through to production and installation
• Review artwork samples, finishes and production details to maintain design quality
• Organise design files, presentations and project documentation
• Support multiple projects and design deliverables while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in a design-related field, ideally art consultancy, interior design or a creative studio
• Excellent design sensibility with a genuine passion for art, interiors and contemporary design
• Strong understanding of colour, composition, scale, materials and finishes
• Ability to interpret interior design concepts and translate them into artwork proposals
• Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive, collaborative approach
• Based in or willing to relocate to Dubai

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Ability to create compelling presentations, mood boards and design layouts
• Nice to have: knowledge of 3D software such as SketchUp, Rhino or similar; familiarity with artwork production, framing, materials and fabrication processes; previous experience working alongside interior designers, art consultants or creative production teams
