Design Engineer - Automotive Sheet Metal

About the role

A leading automotive manufacturing company in Dubai is hiring a Design Engineer for sheet metal and automotive components. The position is on-site in Dubai and requires 1-2 years of experience in automotive design. Candidates should be currently in Dubai; immediate joiners are preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive parts, components and sheet metal assemblies using CATIA and SolidWorks
• Create 3D models, 2D detailed drawings and BOMs according to standards
• Apply sheet metal design, fabrication and manufacturing knowledge, ensuring DFM and DFA
• Work to customer requirements and technical specifications, including basic design calculations
• Coordinate with production and quality for prototype development and approval
• Modify designs for cost reduction and quality improvement
• Maintain design documentation, drawings and records, and support new product development and design changes

Required profile

• Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 1-2 years as a Design Engineer in automotive or sheet metal (mandatory)
• Experience in sheet metal design and automotive design
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and tolerances

Required skills

• CATIA and SolidWorks (both mandatory)
• GD&T, engineering materials and manufacturing processes
