Design Manager – Architecture

About the role

Arada is seeking a Design Manager – Architecture to lead the architectural design process from concept through construction documentation across its mixed‑use, residential and commercial portfolio in the UAE. The role will ensure that design intent, brand standards and commercial targets are met while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full architectural design lifecycle from concept, schematic, design development to tender and IFC, working with international and local consultants.
• Act as the design custodian, safeguarding the original vision, brand guidelines and quality benchmarks throughout all project stages.
• Manage and monitor design consultants, including scope definition, fee negotiation, contract administration and performance tracking.
• Control design costs, programme and risk, ensuring alignment with approved budgets, investment case and master schedule.
• Review and approve architectural documentation for quality, constructability and compliance with UAE planning regulations and fire‑life safety codes.
• Support the construction team by reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, material submissions and resolving design issues on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred) and membership of a recognised professional body (RIBA, AIA or equivalent).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in a consultancy or developer environment, with a strong track record on large‑scale developments in the Middle East, preferably the UAE.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams, manage consultants and coordinate BIM across complex projects.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a commercially‑driven mindset.
