Design Manager – Real Estate

About the role

ASICO is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead design development and coordination across its real‑estate project portfolio. You will act as the technical bridge between the design studio and construction sites, ensuring high‑quality, buildable, code‑compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day development and coordination of architectural, structural and MEP designs from concept through construction.
• Review consultant drawings, resolve clashes and ensure design deliverables align with project schedules.
• Provide on‑site design support, answer RFIs, issue technical clarifications and review shop drawings.
• Maintain BIM protocols, conduct value‑engineering and ensure accurate models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage relationships with design consultants and support permitting with Dubai Municipality, DDA, DEWA, Civil Defence and other authorities.
• Mentor junior design and BIM team members and coordinate with commercial, procurement and construction teams.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of architectural or engineering design experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE.
• Background on the consultant or developer side; main‑contractor design‑coordination experience is a plus.
• Qualified Architect with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Valid UAE driving licence and Arabic speaker with strong English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM tools (Revit or equivalent) and enforcement of BIM protocols (LOD, BEP, CDE).
• Working knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions related to design obligations, RFIs and variations.
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes and authority approval processes (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Civil Defence, DEWA).
