Design Team Lead (Aluminum Manufacturing)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Design Team Lead to oversee the creation of aluminum facade systems. You will manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate and constructible design documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and manage the design team to ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
• Review and oversee shop, fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for aluminum facade systems.
• Ensure drawings comply with architectural, structural, project specifications, codes and client standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, BIM modelers, production, procurement and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Conduct quality checks and design reviews for accuracy, constructability and material optimisation.
• Provide technical guidance to designers, draftsmen and BIM modelers.
• Support production with accurate fabrication details, cutting lists and material take‑offs.
• Identify design risks, resolve challenges and recommend improvements to reduce waste.
• Prepare regular progress reports on design deliverables, approvals and team performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 8–10 years of experience in aluminum façade, curtain wall or related manufacturing.
• 3–5 years in a design leadership or team management role.
• Proven experience managing design teams for façade or aluminum projects.
• Strong knowledge of aluminium façade systems, curtain walls, windows, doors and cladding components.
• Experience preparing and reviewing shop, fabrication and installation drawings.
• UAE or GCC experience in aluminium façade or construction projects is highly preferred.
