Design & Technology Teacher – GCSE & A Level

About the role

An established British curriculum school in Dubai is seeking a Design & Technology Teacher for its secondary and sixth form team. The role involves delivering GCSE and A Level Design & Technology, integrating design thinking, creativity, practical making and technology.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Design & Technology at GCSE and A Level.
• Deliver engaging, practical and project‑based learning.
• Support students through design development, modelling, prototyping, testing and evaluation.
• Prepare students for examinations and coursework/NEA.
• Integrate CAD/CAM and digital design technologies into learning.
• Maintain high standards of safety within practical/workshop environments.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to the development of D&T across the school.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering or a directly relevant discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE, B.Ed., QTS or equivalent.
• Experience teaching D&T within a British curriculum or comparable examination‑based curriculum.
• Strong understanding of GCSE Design & Technology.
• Practical experience with materials, prototyping and design processes.
• Competence with relevant CAD/CAM or digital design software.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Experience teaching A Level D&T/Product Design, managing NEA/coursework, or working with 3D CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting or digital manufacturing is an advantage.
• Qualifications and experience must meet applicable UAE/KHDA requirements for teacher appointment and approval.
