Digital Content Specialist – Library & Learning Commons

About the role

The Library and Learning Commons Department at Zayed University is looking for a Digital Content Specialist to lead the technical production, maintenance, and user support of its digital platforms. The role focuses on emerging AI tools, immersive technologies, and web‑based services that enhance library operations and learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web‑based applications and tools that support content delivery and library workflows.
• Create and run scripts (e.g., Python, R) to automate tasks, clean metadata, and improve user experience.
• Manage digital projects from concept through testing, launch, and ongoing support.
• Evaluate open‑source and commercial solutions for digital innovation and provide technical recommendations.
• Develop, test, and deploy AI‑driven services such as chatbots, automated service points, and metadata enhancement tools.
• Set up and maintain immersive technology hardware and software (VR headsets, AR applications, interactive displays) for students and faculty.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to AI applications and digital hardware to ensure high availability.

Required profile

• Minimum 48 months (4 years) of relevant experience in digital content production or library technology.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on user‑centered services.
• Ability to collaborate with librarians, faculty, and IT staff on interdisciplinary projects.
