Digital Design Lead – Mechanical/Electrical (Dubai)

About the role

HDR is seeking a Digital Design Lead for Mechanical and Electrical disciplines to drive BIM delivery across projects in Dubai. The role operates at an advanced specialist level, providing technical leadership and strategic direction for MEP digital design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical and electrical digital design function, guiding Digital Design staff and coordinating with architects, engineers and other technical leaders.
• Own the MEP discipline model strategy, ensuring alignment with Level of Development (LOD), Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project objectives.
• Oversee creation, management and quality of BIM elements for mechanical and electrical systems, guaranteeing accuracy, constructability and compliance.
• Establish and maintain discipline‑specific modeling methodologies, content libraries, workflows and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership in 3D modeling and BIM tools, develop team capability and resolve complex modeling, coordination and system integration challenges.
• Direct production of detailed drawings, layouts, schematics and design documentation, ensuring completeness and alignment with scope, schedule and budget.
• Lead model quality‑assurance processes, including audits, clash detection reviews, model health assessments and constructability reviews.

Required profile

• Advanced specialist level experience in MEP digital design and BIM delivery.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with architects and engineers.
• Strong understanding of project standards, LOD and digital delivery planning.
